Ahoy! And Happy Valentine's day! Kev and I don't really get to excited about Valentine's day on it's own, so when we were dating we started a tradition.... we celebrate Valentine's with pirates and pancakes.
Enjoy today with people who love you, whether romantically or not. For me, today less about romance and now about baking a point to spend time in someone's presence. Love your neighbor today, you never know what they're going through. 😻😘😻

Throwback Thursday to my final holiday cookie recipe: CHOCOLATE CRINKLE COOKIES

These were a delightful surprise. Honestly, I made these for the texture they would add to the set of cookies we made for the holidays and I wasn’t expecting anything life-changing. I was wrong. These are the best chocolate cookies I have made. They’re so light and airy which is a nice relief when surrounded with super sweet confections of the holidays.

So, the surprise cookie of 2019 holidays is the classic CHOCOLATE CRINKLE by none other than Betty Crocker herself.

Happy Friday everyone! You made it! let's to our holiday SNOWBALL COOKIES!

This recipe was found online (like most of mine are) from Grace Parisi at Serious Eats. She gives the recipe and some really helpful tips to make these delightful, sugary, almondy balls of goodness. We made these for Thanksgiving and Christmas since we liked them so much. The 2nd batch for Christmas turned out a little bit better because I toasted the almonds longer and pulverized them in the food processor into more of a flour texture (as opposed to the “finely chopped” of the 1st batch). I liked the smoother texture better but we had no complaints on either batch. I’m a big fan of almond cookies, so these were right up my alley.

As a note for anyone trying these at home - the powdered sugar dipping process to create the “creamy-sugary glaze hiding beneath the powdery dusting of confectioner’s sugar” as described by Grace in the blog post, was a bit messy…but definitely worth it.

Happy 2020 everyone! I’m posting the recipes of our favorite holiday cookies this year. All of them were found online (mostly on Pinterest) or in my Betty Crocker Cookie Cookbook.

Today the recipe for the fan-favorite: CRANBERRY ORANGE SHORTBREAD COOKIES.

Seriously, these are the most amazing cookies I’ve had in a while – and SO easy! We were able to make the dough one day, set them in the fridge overnight and bake them the next day. I try to break up baking to avoid fatigue when I have large amounts of cookies to bake. This recipe is a MUST and will definitely grace the cookie plates for 2020 holidays as well. Now I’m trying to figure out if I can put cranberry & orange into my normal almond sugar cookies… because yumm.

WHAT A PEACH! 🍑❤️🍑

Last night we attended a labrynth themed holiday party hosted by our wonderful friends over at . Check out their blog for photos 😉

We made peach cookies and they were just adorable. They were delightful and look just like small peaches! The peach fuzz is accomplished by a thin layer of granulated sugar 🥰 Here's the link to the recipe: https://partypinching.com/peach-cookies/

The only thing we changed was using a spoon to hollow out a hole in the center of the cookies to hold more jam because they were a little dense for my taste, but they were a hit!

Is a thing?

Last week I tried my hand at these testy, temperamental treats. It took me a few tries, but my 3rd and final bake was pretty good. I still have some learning to do, but overall, I call it a WIN!

Getting the right bake time and consistency is a bit touchy (understatement of the year) especially in this Florida humidity.
