I had a theme park view deluxe studio at Grand Floridian last night and had the best time!! I’ll post pics of the room and the view tomorrow- I’m still enjoying my short staycation for now! I’ve never done theme park view, and it was amazing. I didn’t want to leave! This picture was taken on our balcony looking the opposite direction of Magic Kingdom.

Ok so one of the biggest perks of living in the Orlando area is having two different coastal experiences less than 2 hours away! We didn’t have much luck at Vero Beach on Saturday, so we came home early and went to Sand Key Park in Clearwater yesterday, and oh my- what a difference!! (We still had storms on the way home last night, but our whole beach day was perfect weather!)
If you are planning to go to Clearwater and prefer less crowds, check out Sand Key Park! They have restrooms, changing areas, lots of parking- and it’s only $5!! The beach is beautiful- we found lots of shells and saw plenty of fish!

Storms, red algae, and turtle nests- this pretty much summed up or weekend at Vero Beach. It was still beautiful, but I was disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy the beach as much as we had hoped. Has the red algae impacted any of your beach trips recently?

What I ate on my overnight staycation at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village!
We had dinner last night at Sanaa, which is always delicious. I decided to try the Samaki Wa Kupaka (the sustainable fish of the day was African Kingfish)- it was absolutely fantastic! My only complaint was the mushy chickpea patty underneath, but the actual fish was perfect as was the cauliflower. I’ll definitely be getting this again! 🐟🐟

Today we enjoyed a pool day at Jambo House where we had an adorable cheesecake/carrot cake bunny dessert from the quick service The Mara. It was as tasty as it was cute! They just released today for the Easter week, so hop on by to try one before they go away! 🐰

We ended the trip with a drink poolside. I had the Flamingo Mule, which was very refreshing on this hot day. It had Grey Goose vodka (they are out of the Snow Leopard ☹️) Van der Hum Tangerine Liquor, lime juice, Fever Tree ginger beer, cranberry juice, and mango and guava syrups. Fever Tree comes off too strong for me a lot of times, but this drink just had a splash of it, so no burn! This was a great take on a mule, and I’d get it again for sure 🍹

So this is one of the things that’s been keeping me busy recently! Meet Poppy, our sweet high energy goofball Goldendoodle puppy! ❤️🐶 She is so lovable, soft, and snuggly when she’s calm, but goes into velociraptor mode when she has her energy back! 😂😂
