"GREAT SHOW OF HAWAIIAN HISTORY"

"We weren’t really feeling the traditional luau and this show was recommended to us by some Hawaiians. We decided to check it out and were glad we did! A very interesting and entertaining show. Come prepared with a little brush up on your Hawaiian history to get the full effect. I ended up reading “A Concise History of Hawaiian Islands” after and the show made a lot more sense. They hand out a short explanation paper at the box office which gives you enough to go on and they have some narration to provide some hand holds but “ A Concise History” helped fill in some blank spots that weren’t completely clear. And it is a quick read. Lots of various traditional dances are displayed here beyond your typical luau. The cast was excellent. The singing lovely and haunting. The acrobatics, while not necessarily Cirque du Soleil quality, was well done. Our teenagers and us had a good time discussing the story after and laughed at the way myth (which had a lot of funny characters) and history were interwoven. Maui and Pele show up and give excellent performances. Highly Recommended."
