“Look for the good in other people.” ❤️

Today at Mission Viejo Mall, I’m back with Bernice for my final question:

If you could leave one message for humanity, what would it be?

Her message was beautifully simple:

People should look for the good in other people.

In a world where it can be easy to focus on our differences, our disagreements, and what we believe is wrong with one another, Bernice reminds us to look in the other direction.

Look for the good.

Maybe when we start seeing the good in each other, we also start seeing more of our shared humanity.

Same question. A very different answer.

Today at Mission Viejo Mall, I’m talking with Dennis, Bernice’s husband.

Yesterday, Bernice told me she believes global peace is possible “with the right leaders.”

So I asked Dennis:

Do you believe global peace is possible?

His answer:

“No, I don’t. There are too many people who want to fight.”

Two people. Husband and wife. Two different perspectives on the same question.

And that’s exactly what makes this journey so interesting.

We don’t have to agree to listen to one another.

This time, I asked her the second Voices for Peace question:

Do you believe global peace is possible?

Her answer was hopeful:

Yes—with the right leaders.

For Bernice, leadership matters. The people entrusted with power have the ability to influence whether humanity moves toward greater conflict—or toward cooperation and peace.

One question. One hopeful answer. One important reminder about the responsibility that comes with leadership.

Today at Mission Viejo Mall, I met Bill, an elderly gentleman, and asked him all three Voices for Peace questions.

Why do you think there are so many wars in the world?

His answer:

“Greed.”

Do you believe global peace is possible?

“No.”

And finally:

Do you have a message you’d like to leave for humanity?

“Not really.”

Short. Honest. Unfiltered.

Not every conversation ends with an inspirational message—and that’s part of this journey too.

Voices for Peace isn’t about searching for the answers I want to hear. It’s about documenting what people genuinely think.

Bill gave me exactly that.

Yesterday was rejection after rejection. Today, we meet Bernice. ❤️

At Mission Viejo Mall, I met Bernice, an elderly woman and a teacher, and asked her:

Why do you think there are so many wars in the world?

Her answer was simple and direct:

Greed.

In her view, so much of the conflict we see in the world is driven by people wanting more—more power, more resources, more for themselves.

After yesterday’s episode showing the struggle and persistence it took to find people willing to participate, Bernice was one of the voices who said yes.

And her perspective becomes another piece of this 2,000-day conversation.

One person. One perspective. One voice at a time.

New location. A lot of rejection. Zero intention of giving up.

Today, I arrived at Mission Viejo Mall with one goal: walk around, meet people, and continue asking the three questions at the heart of Voices for Peace.

But today didn’t go as planned.

“No, thank you.”

“No.”

“Not interested.”

Again. And again. And again.

For nearly three minutes, this video shows the part of the journey most people never see: approaching strangers, putting myself out there, getting rejected, and then walking over to the next person and trying again.

At one point, I reminded myself:

I’m not giving up. I’m going to keep going.

Because 2,000 days is a commitment.

Some days will be filled with incredible conversations.

Other days will test how badly I want to continue.

Today was one of those days.

But eventually… someone said YES.

Who?

What you see are the interviews. What you don’t always see are all the rejections it takes to get there.

Today’s video is a little different.

At Fashion Island, I approached person after person, asking if they would be open to participating in Voices for Peace and sharing their perspective.

Many said no.

And that’s completely okay.

This compilation shows some of those moments—the reality behind creating this project every day. Anyone who specifically did not want to be on camera has been blurred to respect their privacy.

Sometimes I have to approach many people just to find a few who are willing to stop, talk, and share their voice.

The rejection is part of the journey.

I keep asking. I keep showing up. I keep going.

Because behind every interview you see, there may have been many “no’s” before that one “yes.”

“Let’s help each other. Let’s be compassionate with each other. And let’s hope—everything is possible.”

Back at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, I asked this gentleman my final question:

If you could leave one message for humanity, what would it be?

His message was simple, hopeful, and universal:

Help one another.
Have compassion for one another.
And never lose hope in what is possible.

Sometimes peace doesn’t begin with governments or institutions.

Sometimes it begins with how we treat the person standing next to us.

Sometimes the simplest answers reveal something deeper.

Inside Fashion Island in Newport Beach, I met an elderly couple and asked the wife all three questions.

Why do you think there are so many wars in the world?

Her answer: people are not caring enough. We’re not empathetic enough toward one another.

Do you believe global peace is possible?

“Yes — but not for a long time.”

What message would you leave for humanity?

“Be caring and kind.” ❤️

Then her husband added his own message:

“Open your eyes. See what’s going on around you.”

Care more.
Be more empathetic.
Choose kindness.
And pay attention to the world around us.

Four young voices. Four messages to humanity. ❤️

Back with the group of teenagers at Fashion Island, I asked them my final question:

If you could leave one message for humanity, what would it be?

Each of them had something different to say—and every answer was genuine, positive, and honestly pretty adorable.

Sometimes the simplest messages can carry the most meaning, especially when they come from the next generation.

This is what Voices for Peace is all about: giving everyone a voice, listening without judgment, and discovering what people genuinely want to share with the world.
