She moved to Irvine, California with her family at age 16. Currently residing in Orange County, CA where she maintains a local workshop. At age 20, she started her academic studies in fine art at Irvine Valley College where she met and studied under her mentor, George Kyle. She then attended Laguna College of Art Design to receive more advance training while still maintaining her studying in still

life painting with her mentor of 10 years. Nan has also studied with internationally known artists: David Leffel, Casey Baugh and Daniel Keys. Known for her delicate touch and dynamic composition in still life & floral painting.
