The Festival of Arts has offered a breathtaking showcase for artists and art lovers for 90 years. The Festival’s prestigious juried art show includes a wide variety of media such as paintings, photography, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, handcrafted wood and furniture, ceramics, glass and more - all by over 100 of Orange County’s finest artists. The Pageant of the Masters is arguably one of the m

ost unique productions in the entire world. On each evening of the Festival of Arts summer schedule, ticket holders are amazed and enchanted by ninety minutes of tableaux vivants ("living pictures"), incredibly faithful re-creations of classical and contemporary works of art, with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant of the Masters as the best presentation of its kind.

They’re baaaaaack! 👀 Join actors Esai Morales and Joe Mantegna this Friday, September 4, as we close out the season with an unforGOATable celebration.

In 2017, Esai joined Joe for a night at the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters. Nine years later these GOATs are coming back for the Pageant’s season finale and the Greatest Party of All Time with Esai as our celebrity host! ✨

Then (1936) ➡️ Now (2026).

This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Pageant of the Masters’ first re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci’s "The Last Supper."

In 1936, Pageant director Roy Ropp selected Leonardo da Vinci’s "The Last Supper" as the production’s finale, beginning a tradition that would become one of the Pageant’s most iconic moments. The ambitious presentation required a larger stage and combined the living tableau with narration and live music.

The original production also holds a surprising piece of Pageant history: Jesus was portrayed by a woman, a Festival board member whose identity was kept private. She continued in the role until the Festival suspended operations during World War II. Today, "The Last Supper" remains a beloved Pageant tradition.
