Skyllkill Chapter meets at Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church, 1168 Rt 55, Lagrangeville, NY 12540. It is one of 18 chapters in the Metropolitan Region (http://metroega.org) which serves NY, NJ, CT and PA) of the EGA, Inc. Between local, regional and national offerings members learn and appreciate all manner of needlework techniques, and have great opportunities to enjoy and grow their skil

ls. Monthly meetings include education, social-stitch time, and a program presentation. The chapter maintains an extensive reference library available to all members. Skyllkill also engages in substantial community involvement & outreach.

Skyllkill's September meeting will be Wednesday, September 2. Chapter member Boni Ritter will speak about and demonstrate needle felting. The program begins at 12:30pm.
Skyllkill's day begins at 10 am for Social Time, 10:45 for Show & Share; Business Meeting at 11am. Lunch (bring your own bag lunch & beverage) is at 11:30, with dessert table provided. The program begins at 12:30. Visitors and guests are welcome.

Explore the educational options that emerged in 18th- and 19th-century Philadelphia for free and enslaved Black girls through an analysis of schoolgirl samplers with Dr. Lynne Anderson. Her virtual lecture, ‘For her much respected parents:’ Samplers by Black Girls in Philadelphia, will showcase samplers by Black activists in Pennsylvania’s anti-slavery movement; samplers by members of the Underground Railroad; and a recently uncovered group of samplers dedicated to the makers' “much respected parents.” Register now:
