We are excited to announce more 6th Southeast Regional Purchase Awards!

Brandon Dudley of Kinston, NC received a purchase award for "the Red Interval." Purchased by the Lamar Dodd Art Center, this piece will be on display at the LaGrange Art Museum until January 16, 2027. This will make the second piece of Dudley's purchased by the Lamar Dodd!

This week our 4-7 year old artists used cool colors (greens, blues, and purples), while learning about Pointillism (using small dots of pure color instead of blending pigments to form an image.) Well known artist, Georges Seurat, pioneered pointillism in the mid-1880’s during the Post-Impressionist period.

Artist Hyoungseok Kim has a pointillism painting within our permanent collection titled “Ghost in the City - Park” (Not currently on display). It is a work we are able to reference when discussing this process with our students. (Photo at the end.)

Our 13+ students added color to their clay looms with oil pastels and metallic wash.

We are excited to announce more 6th Southeast Regional Purchase Awards!

Ron Rubino of Greensboro, GA received two purchase awards for "Truck Stop" and "Bird and Mirrors." Both pieces are black and white inkjet prints and are currently on display at the LaGrange Art Museum until January 16, 2027
