New Hat Style release!!

These are based on Italian Renaissance headgear, inspired by the trinzale, the reta, and caul caps -
Often portrayed in Historical fiction like "The Borgias"

I designed these caps for those desiring the bejeweled and fancy of a French Hood, but unable to wear the weight, the heat or placement of traditional English Renaissance hats.

Each cap has the option to tie on with ribbon, set in the hair with a comb, or be pinned into place. Can be worn with or without a veil, on both long and short hair!

While performing as Queen at the Selma Renaissance Festival this spring, I got asked by an enthusiastic vendor if I'd bring the same energy to a festival he was opening near Chattanooga.

He also offered me a vendor's spot for the Library - an honest to goodness physical store booth.

And now it's only 18 days away!

I have a flurry of new hat designs to finish, a few exciting new products we're designing specifically for this festival -

And a whole Queen's gown I need to finish and rhinestone. 😅

Queen Elinor and Astoria's Library will both be at The Crown & Dragon Renaissance Festival** on Sept 19th and 20th in Madisonville, TN! Conceptualized and Designed by Dragonborncreations!

The concept of the faire is pretty neat! Kind of a D&D choose your own adventure type quest thing.

Okay, y'all.
Yes, it's hot.
And it's probably going to stay hot

And next summer, it will be hotter

Now, I'm a child of history - I like to read up on how people survive before cut off shorts and AC.

One of the things I do is look at the regions that have been and were always hot

And this is an easy fix.

Got an extra bedsheet?
Got a length of fabric?
Do you have a rope, a belt, some safety pins, a needle and thread?

You can make a short tunic that works as a shirt.
You can make a dress.

"But Astoria, I don't sew!"
You don't need to.
You can just pin it.
You can use hot glue.
Whatever is easiest.

Drape yourself in linen, cotton, bamboo, muslin, lawn, voile, gauze.... Afraid it's see thru? Use two layers. Or wear a cami.

"I don't know what I'm doing, though."

So ask me. I gotchu.
Just embrace your inner grecian goddess, draped in fabric, laying on a couch, eating grapes, drinking singing cool, and doing very little else.

Be comfortable.
And look fabulous while doing so.

Rosamine - Wrapped in pink satin and hydrangea, the height of girlish fashion, topped with white ostrich feathers and a jaunty pink bow
