We opened Gold N Tattoos in 2011 and have had a very successful run up to date. When we first started GNT, the artists were excited to get in the shop and start running tattoos, and we were still pulling in decor and finishing touches. There was a lot of time and revenue that went into the shop in the beginning, just to get the doors open....but “maintaining” and “keeping” the business thriving has been the biggest job and expense of all. We opened the doors on October 15th 2011.
The beginning was very tough...it was my very first experience in running a shop and I wanted it to be a great success. I was very free to spread my tattoo knowledge and skills with the artists to ensure that they could learn and enhance their skills as well. Each Tattoo Artist that has came through GNT through the years has gotten better at their skill while working with us. We have always provided a stress free environment, and a place where the artists can learn through each other, if they choose. We make it as easy on them as possible so they can have the time to focus on their artwork and enhance their skills.
Although, we do very high quality work, we stay humble. We always keep in mind that the minute we think we’ve mastered the skill, is the very minute we stop enhancing and learning and there is always something new to learn in Tattooing. Since the beginning, we have taken great strides to only bring in the best Tattoo Artists to work on all of you. Through the years I have personally worked with and/or taught a lot of the local artists here in Frankfort, and I have relocated a few from the Chicago area to Frankfort.
4 years ago, in 2013, we decided to change the way we run shop. We wanted to pull together a permanent home team, rather than run a 50/50/apprentice shop. We allow all of our artists to become a part of the team, as a partner, and while some have only taken our kindness for weakness, we do have other bigger and better artists coming our way, who have the level of respect for what a Professional Team is all about. With myself (Shannon Wallace Harting, Phil Harting, and Josh Wallace we are making preparations for expanding our Label and bringing in some new upper scale tattoo artists to work with us. We have recently been awarded and honored by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB represents Gold ‘N’ Tattoos as one of the best Tattoo Parlors in Indiana. We provide a professional atmosphere for our clients and aim to please all with beautiful tattoos to last forever. We excel in sleeve work, cover-ups, portraits, and many other mediums, such as oils, acrylics, and charcoals! We do a lot of custom work for our clients to ensure that they are getting what they want. If you bring in flash, pics, or just ideas you may have....we can draw up a custom design just for you!
