It is a VERY SPECIAL woman's birthday today. Bon Anniversaire, Lisa Stafford! This woman, our Programming Director of over 25 years, is the reason that Festival shares amazing, diverse international music year after year. When reflecting on her immense impact...this project came to mind.

During the 2020 pandemic, when we were forced into quarantine, Lisa's endlessly creative mind came up with the idea to do this collaboration video with artists from around the globe to unite us all and give hope, inspiration and share music. She chose the uplifting song U'Huh by Sinkane

As Lisa has faced an unimaginable loss of her son, Chris Stafford, this past week, we want nothing more than to be able to bring her a glimpse of the hope and happiness she has given SO MANY in her life.

The many artists featured in this video submitted A LOT of individual tracks to her brilliant son, Chris, to mix into one beautiful song. Of course he took on the task without a flinch - and in collaboration with his buddy, our Marketing Director, Carly, they produced this video to bring a smile to viewers across continents during an indescribably difficult and lonely time.

This song is about finding light in the shadows, coming together to lift each other up and carry on. Please close your eyes and send warmth, love and light to Lisa on her birthday.

Thank you all for your support in our Virtual Festival this year! This experience was not what we had planned at the beginning of the year, but we made the best out of the situation and in the end, we think that the production came out great while bringing our patrons “together” from around the world.

We plan to carry our momentum straight into spring 2021 and can't wait to see you all again at our 35th Festival International de Louisiane!

Festival International is the largest international music and arts festival in the United States and strengthens the Francophone and international communities’ ties to Lafayette. This annual ticketless festival features musical performances by artists from more than 24 countries, diverse cuisine, open-air art markets, workshops, exhibits, visual art, children’s activities, theater and performance arts.
