You may have seen news online about the devastation and flooding throughout Indiana this week. While Lafayette has been fortunate to so far avoid some of the catastrophic flooding we are seeing in Central Indiana, it is still kind of wet!
Here are photos from Fort Ouiatenon this morning, courtesy of Jim Jacobs (sutler Blue Heron Mercantile). As you can see, the blockhouse is still dry, but the Voyageur Camp is flooded, as is much of the parking lot off of the park entrance, and most of the fields that are sutlers, food booths, and more during the event.
As of now, the Wabash has crested. So unless we get addition heavy rains, it should start to recede.
