A tiny customer named Acadia handed this to me at the admission window, and it reminded me why we do what we do.
Forgetting someone's livelihood is at stake, people are often quick to share their experience online. Sometimes frustrations are real. Sometimes emotions take over. Most of the time the version of events that gets shared is distorted... and at times even dishonest..
While adults are busy looking for what's wrong, kids are often busy appreciating what's right.
That's why something as simple as a hand-drawn picture can mean so much. It reminds us that behind the skates, the music, etc.. is a place where families come together. Its a place that for 43 yrs ( at this location) the same family has beat the odds...
We recently added the photo I am adding to this post on one of our walls saying" its more than a rink... its a family" This is something only rink owners and the employees who became lifelong friends through countless late nights, weekends, and shared memories will truly understand.
Moments like this make every long day, every challenge, and every complaint worth it.
