A glimpse inside The French Kiss. ✨

When Shanna sent me this beautiful antique vignette, I immediately knew this painting belonged here.

What feels especially meaningful is that this piece was painted before our recent trip to Italy. Looking at it now, I can see hints of the places that were already capturing my imagination from studying the itinerary — the soft blush facades, weathered stone streets, sea-washed blues, olive greens, and sunlit neutrals that define so much of the Mediterranean landscape.

Sometimes inspiration arrives long before we realize it.

I’m honored to have this piece included in Les Fleurs & Fineries at The French Kiss later this month alongside Shanna’s beautifully curated collection of antiques, textiles, and treasures and fine art by Danielle Nester Faulk and Hilary McQueen 🤍

Join us Saturday, June 27th from 11am – 3pm in Round Top.

I came home with thousands of photos.

But what I really brought home was a feeling.

The warmth of sun-washed stone.
The soft blues of the sea.
Green shutters and doors.
Lemon groves.
Bougainvillea blanketing old walls.

Long before I ever stepped on a plane, these colors were already finding their way into my paintings.

Now that I’m home, I’m beginning to see why.

A new collection is taking shape in the studio, inspired by the light, color and sun drenched beauty of Southern Italy.

And I can’t wait to share it with you. 🇮🇹

Today feels a little bit like standing at the edge of something new.

Before our trip to Italy, I found myself drawn to palettes of sun-washed stone, faded blush, olive green, sea blues, and warm neutrals. Looking back, I think the work was already beginning to shift before I ever stepped on a plane.

Today I prepped a fresh canvas, mixed the first colors, and started gathering ideas for what will become my next body of work.

No title yet.

No roadmap.

Just inspiration, intuition, and a studio full of possibility.

I’m excited to see where it leads.

Three years ago, we stood on a beach in Antigua and promised to build a life together.

Since then, we’ve filled that life with adventures, laughter, big dreams, hard work, and more blessings than I could have imagined.

Thank you for being my biggest supporter, my steady place, and my favorite person to come home to.

Happy Anniversary to my husband and best friend. 🤍

Home.

After nearly 2.5 weeks in Italy, 24 hours of travel, and a full day recovering from jet lag, I’m finally back where it all begins.

I haven’t felt this excited to walk into my studio since the day I moved into this space three years ago.

The colors, architecture, light, water, history, and beauty I experienced throughout southern Italy left me overflowing with inspiration.

My sketchbook is full.

My camera roll is overflowing.

And my mind is racing with ideas for new collections.

Tomorrow, the painting begins.

Summer feels like the perfect time to start something new. ☀️

One of the most memorable days of this trip was spent in Otranto with my cousin, Julie.

We wandered through the old town, discovered centuries-old frescoes tucked inside stone churches, and spent the afternoon floating in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

The colors here hardly seem real — soft limestone, endless shades of blue, and sunlight reflecting across the water. As an artist, it’s impossible not to come home inspired.

Grateful for this day, this place, and the chance to experience it with family. 🤍

Still trying to process the colors of the Amalfi Coast 🤍

Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Minori —
every turn felt like a painting.
Soft blush walls, faded shutters, turquoise water, oxidized green doors, lemon trees, old stone, hydrangeas spilling over staircases…

I already know this incredible trip will find its way into my studio and future collections.

And yes…
I had to swim in the Mediterranean ✨

Postcards from the Amalfi Coast 🍋

A day spent wandering the ancient lemon paths between Minori and Maiori, visiting a family lemon plantation overlooking the sea, ferrying along the coastline, and gathering inspiration everywhere I looked.

The colors here almost don’t feel real — faded peach walls, turquoise water, weathered stone, oxidized greens, and bright citrus against the blue sea.

I already know this place will find its way into a future collection.

Italy has a way of slowing you down enough to truly see beauty again.
