Registration is open!! (So what are you waiting for?? 😏) BUT being serious, I wanted to give everyone a heads up that you can register on a DESKTOP or LAPTOP because the um “glitch” has been fixed!! (Thanks, Jessica!)

Please REMEMBER if you want your kid to paint with other kids, the entire group needs to be registered TOGETHER -- like if they were all siblings. So only ONE registration for up to six kids to paint together.

Okay ... REGISTRATION will open "tomorrow", Monday, August 31 just after midnight. I will be posting the event link, but remember: It will not work until after midnight. ALSO, in previous years, there was a glitch in Ticketbud that instead of being able to register your kid(s), you are directed to the Contest's FB Messenger. That issue seems to happen if you use a desktop/laptop rather than a cellphone. Many apologies!!!

And which Saturday & Sunday in October is painting weekend?? It is the FIRST full weekend in October. So, this year -- the Contest's 16th year!! -- PAINTING WEEKEND is Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. And as always 7 AM to 7 PM. Yup, no exceptions; if you paint before 7 am or after 7 pm, your painting will be disqualified for judging. Remember this is a CONTEST so everybody has to follow the rules. Okay?

Hello! Lisa Klein, Event Chair, here. As I noted in January, five people -- Jessica, Beth, Becky, Dani, and Kim -- volunteered to help me run the Contest. So, YES, there will be a Contest this year -- and for years to come!! However, we will be implementing a few changes so that certain tasks are not so time-consuming AND onerous. An important change is we cannot manually assign windows to kids who want to paint next to each other. TO PAINT NEXT TO SOMEONE (OR MANY SOMEONES), ONE PERSON (PARENT) FROM THE GROUP WILL NEED TO REGISTER *EVERY PARTICIPANT* IN THE GROUP. Registration should open ... soon (I'm thinking on August 31).

A Happy New Year to Everyone. I do have some sad news though: I wanted to inform everyone that Bonnie, my partner from the very beginning (since 2011!!), has decided to step down from helping me run the Contest (we've also had additional partners over the years). I so appreciate her many years of dedication to this event. But if you want this event to continue, I need a few people to volunteer to help me run it because I cannot do it alone. (Remember, the Contest is a charitable organization run on a shoestring budget.) How many hours? As many -- or as few -- as you’d like to offer. :-) Seriously, though, there are a number of different tasks that require different number of hours; as little as one hour of volunteer time to many hours. I also know that the time required for some tasks could be reduced with streamlined processes. If you are interested, shoot me a private message with your email address. Then after I’ve **hopefully** received a few responses, I’ll email everyone to decide on a date/time to meet at my house in Old Town. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.
