What a great afternoon in Downtown Lafayette!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by Gallery 102 today. Whether you came in to browse, discovered a new local artist, found something special to take home, or simply popped in to say hello—we loved having you!

It was also wonderful to see so many people strolling the Public Square, visiting local businesses, enjoying the afternoon, and helping celebrate 615 on the Square Boutique’s 8th Anniversary! 🎉

Congratulations to Allie Jenkins and 615 on the Square on eight years in business! Milestones like this are a wonderful reminder of what makes our downtown special—locally owned businesses, creative spaces, neighbors supporting neighbors, and a community that shows up. ❤️

🎶🌳 Friendly Reminder from the Macon County Arts Council! 🌳🎶

Our Fall Concerts in Key Park kick off this Thursday, September 3rd, with the Flat Rock Ramblers! 🎻🎵

Come early and come hungry! Food trucks will be serving from 5–9 PM, including Makin’ Grub, Moo Ma’s Mini Donuts, and Lemonade. 🍴🍩🍋

🎶 Music begins at 7 PM and continues until 9 PM.

So pack your chairs, bring your appetite, invite a friend, and settle in for a wonderful evening of live music at Key Park!

🎨 Meet the Maker Monday | Rita Watson 🎨

Sometimes the inspiration behind a piece of art makes it even more special. This week, we’re highlighting Rita Watson, an artist whose creativity, curiosity, and love of trying new things can be seen throughout her work.

One of Rita’s favorite pieces came from a little inspiration close to home—her grandsons.

As Rita shares:

“This is not a typical piece for me, but the grandboys were into dragons (almost ten years ago!), so I did this dragon’s eye. It was fun to do and I liked the way it turned out. And because the boys liked it, it became a favorite of mine.”

❤️ What began as something fun for her grandboys became a treasured piece and a wonderful reminder that inspiration often comes from the people we love.

Rita’s creativity doesn’t stop with painting. She is known for her charming miniature canvas art, her fun and engaging doodling classes, and her willingness to experiment with a variety of artistic mediums. You never quite know what Rita will create next!

✨ You can find Rita Watson’s creations locally at Gallery 102 in Lafayette, Step Back in Time Shop in Red Boiling Springs, and at select seasonal markets under Grandpa’s House.
