Our first auction is officially in the books, and we're excited to bring you another opportunity to own a beautiful piece of original artwork created by one of our talented local artists!

🖼️ ONE WEEK. ONE ARTIST. ONE SPECIAL PIECE!

Each Tuesday, Gallery 102 features a unique work of art on our page, and YOU have just 24 hours to make it yours!

🎨 HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

🔹 A New Piece Each Week: Discover original artwork from a different Gallery 102 artist.

🔹 Opening Bid: Each piece has a minimum starting bid.

🔹 24 Hours to Bid: Bidding opens every Tuesday at 11 AM and closes Wednesday at 11 AM.

🔹 Place Your Bid: All bids must be made in the comments of the ORIGINAL Gallery 102 Facebook auction post. Bids on shared posts will not count.

🔹 Highest Bid Wins: The highest qualifying bidder at the close of the auction takes home the artwork!

75% of the winning bid goes directly to the artist, while 25% supports Gallery 102 and our mission of keeping creativity thriving in Macon County!

🎨❤️ **MEET THE MAKER MONDAY | MARLA DAVIS** ❤️🎨

Sometimes, one little painting is all it takes to rediscover a passion!

For Gallery 102 artist Marla Davis, that painting was a tiny watercolor bird on a refrigerator magnet. 🐦

After nearly six years away from painting, life had gotten busy, and art had quietly taken a back seat.

Then came an unexpected discovery at an estate sale—a collection of beautiful watercolor paints at a price too good to pass up! Despite having little watercolor experience and no plans to start painting again, Marla bought them. 😂

Those paints sat in a drawer for about a year until one day, she decided to paint a few refrigerator magnets.

One little bird became another painting, then another. Before long, the floodgates opened, and Marla rediscovered her love of creating!

❤️ In Marla's own words:

"Looking back, I think God knew I needed it before I did. He put the tools back in my hands at exactly the right time.

Because painting isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s therapy.

When I sit down at my desk, turn on some music, and pick up a paintbrush, my mind gets quiet. The workday gets filed away. Whatever was bothering me seems to fade into the background."

Marla's story reminds us that creativity doesn't have an expiration date. Sometimes our passions are simply waiting for us to return. ❤️
