All artists are encouraged to join. This provides an opportunity for you to connect with the community, sell your works and educate others about the process involved in creating what you do!

There are some cute and original art for sale in the Security Financial Bank gallery. These roses are $10 each and would look great on your Mom’s Easter table. Only three left. These are Metal Plasma Cut by Thornapple Metal Designs. Designers are Julie Y. Brockbank and Dave Proden.

We have a new exciting artist in Ladysmith. Some of her work is on display in the Community Room at Security Financial Bank.
Linda King and her husband David recently moved to Ladysmith and they love the less hectic pace of life here. She feels the most herself when she is out in nature and her art reflects that curiosity and gratitude. She is a self taught artist and started painting in 2018 as a way to move through grief following the death of her dad when she found herself unable to get back into her regular creative pursuits. Linda continues to look for ways to grow as an artist and her other creative passions include photography, writing, dancing, and landscaping.

Linda has also volunteered to be the co-curators of the SFB Gallery along with Shiann Piekarski. There has been a turnover of art in the gallery, with lots of beautiful new art on display. Go by during banking hours to check it out.

RAAA members—you artsy people! Years ago RAAA had a member by the name of Mona Manson, from Germany (her brother was Al Manson who lived in Ladysmith). She created wonderful character dolls or puppets with porcelain-like faces and hands, very lifelike, with quite individualized faces and “stories.” Her creations were for sale in the Gift Gallery for years and maybe there are still some there, I’m not sure. Anyway, she left a box containing two dolls (about 18” tall) that are almost complete but need their costumes finished. I think they were supposed to be Romeo and Juliet but I’m not sure. See the photo. The box also includes extra fabric and notions for the costumes. If you would like to finish these character dolls, please contact me, Ruth Meszaros (715-415-4096), to acquire these materials. I am downsizing and will never complete these myself but some creative person WILL, I am sure. It’s a challenge!

If I don’t hear from a RAAA member in a WEEK, I will post this on Facebook for anyone, and possibly on Marketplace.

Charles Richard Mogensen, age 70, of Ladysmith, passed away at his home on January 20, 2026.

Dear Friends,
My friend and high school classmate, Barb Bruger, sent this jpeg. Barb's mother bought this piece from Chuck for her sister. When her sister died, the piece came back to Barb’s mother with the understanding that it would eventually go to Diane, Barb’s cousin. Barb asked Diane to send a jpeg of the piece for us to see. Chuck would have been 16 when he painted this piece!!! Wouldn’t it be lovely to hear from others who own one of Chuck’s masterpieces and hear the stories behind other purchases?
