I'm back after a long hiatus! I've been up to glaze shenanigans this weekend because I'm firing a kiln load to bring to Steppin' Out next Friday/Saturday in Blacksburg. Find me at the Sinking Creek Pottery booth (for the first time since 2014!).

Don't leave the studio's garage door open in the nice weather.

Quick preview of the last kiln load before Christmas. I'll be photographing tomorrow and posting here first, and then my goal will be to post everything on Etsy Monday in one large work session. There's a lot I'm excited about, and some that need a refire. But as always, I learned a ton.

I was we**am stalking my kiln while working on Etsy listings this afternoon. I went to go check it in person and suddenly smelled smoke! It was luckily just the neighbor's lighting their first woodstove fire of the year (??? It's 70 degrees out!) but I sure got a scare!

I scored this amazing sink for free (!!!!!) from a friend who turned down my offer of a set of bowls but is going to get a set anyway. I'm so excited to not have to go outside in the heat or cold to wash tools, not to mention letting in the mosquitoes or other biting Louisiana bugs. It's going to go in the spot where the bike is and will get installed once the holiday rush is over in January.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day. I've spent mine divided between hanging out with the family, in the studio making mugs and now at a coffee shop working on more Etsy listings. I've really been enjoying tweaking my handles and trying to figure out how to make them a little faster.
