‼️HUGE NEWS! We are excited to share that, for the Bonita High School (BHS) Men’s Choir has been selected by the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) and California Choral Directors Association (CCDA) to perform at the California All State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) held in Sacramento in January of 2027!

Each year, choirs from across California submit applications and recordings to be considered for performance at CASMEC. Only six choirs are selected across elementary through university level, making this one of the highest statewide honors a choir can receive. Being chosen recognizes the BHS Men’s Choir as one of the most outstanding high school choirs in the state of California.

We believe this honor is particularly meaningful because maintaining a strong, established Men’s Choir at the high school level is increasingly rare throughout the state. We submitted recordings of the BHS Men’s Choir from the past two years, and we were notified over the summer that our ensemble had been selected.

Adding even more significance to this honor, Ramona Middle School’s Troubadours have also been selected as one of this year’s six featured choirs! The BHS Men’s Choir and Ramona Troubadours will each present a 25-minute performance, back to back, creating an incredible opportunity to showcase the strength and continuity of choral music education throughout the Bonita Unified School District.

With the level of prestige that this conference holds, our students look forward to representing both Bonita High School and the Bonita Unified School District in the state’s capital this January! 🏆🟢⚪️🐾🎶
