Six years ago Scott had an idea to create a Christmas light show synchronized to music. He saw it once on a TV Commercial and ran with the idea. We had search the web and found a website Light-O-Rama (http://lightorama.com). They provide the controllers to program the lights and music. Now the light show has over 100,000 lights programed to 12 different songs that is transmitted to a radio station
95.9 FM the can be heard in your vehicle. The light show takes approximate 20-30 days to setup and 10 days to program the songs. We are blessed to have so many people help us through the years with set-up, take down, programming and traffic control. Owen, Josh, Chris, Skip and Bob have dedicated countless hours each year. When we started in 2007 we had decided to collect donations for our local food pantry - the Illinois Valley Food Pantry. We were over whelmed by the response of our community. As the first year, we raised $5500.00 in cash and over 2000 pounds of food. In the last five year we have cumulative raised $32,000 and 10,000 pounds of food. We are so gracious to our community for supporting our cause. As economic times get harder for our area, we know the importance to do all we can. This year will feature a Santa night as Santa will be waiting outside to greet everyone, more details to come. We also want to give a huge thanks to all neighbors for being so patient.
