The theatre “Ghost Light” is always turned on at the close of the show. The light shines through the darkness until the next show brings the stage back to glorious life once again. Although the light will no longer shine onstage at Sutherland for BYT, the light will shine in our memories and our hearts. From the song, “What I Did For Love” from A Chorus Line, “Gone, love is never gone, as we travel on, love’s what we’ll remember”. All of the staff at BYT are grateful to the many Families, Alumni, and Patrons who have been involved and have given so much over the years. Love has lived here through all of you.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26

To the seniors, to the juniors, to the entire BYT community: it has never been more important to let the light of Christ's love shine through you. Be that light, because wherever you go -especially today- someone will need it.

It is with deep sadness that we share that Biola's leadership announced that Biola Youth Theatre (BYT) will close at the end of this month on June 30, 2020. We are grateful to all the families and students who we've served over the last 24 years since we started in 1996. Biola leadership will be hosting a town hall via zoom on June 17 at 7 p.m. for families to process any questions. The zoom link is in the article below.

“Music Man was definitely a tough show in a lot of ways, especially at first. But throughout the rehearsal process, I slowly began to realize all the good that was happening despite the hardships. I made new friends but also grew closer to old ones. By show week I was having the time of my life. After performing for so many years, I no longer felt the excitement of opening night but something about how different everything was- the new environment and people- brought that feeling back. I made so many good memories with old and new friends in this show, onstage and off and I’ll always be grateful for the experience. Also Shipoopi is the best dance number ever.” - Natalie

“My favorite show was Music Man 2020. I was a lead dancer in the Cornet cast. I enjoyed this show the most because of one specific rehearsal I had with all of the lead dancers. A very deep devotion question was asked and we were all very vulnerable and real. We cried and laughed together. I got to grow a much deeper connection with everyone in that room and I couldn’t be more thankful for that night.” - Alyson
