Starting this Saturday, July 17th, we are reviving our weekly Sit & Stitch. This is an event where fiber lovers join an informal get-together at the shop and share ideas, projects, stories and occasionally, advice. The Sit & Stitch is from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm, long enough where you can drop in and sit awhile. It is free to attend the Sit & Stitch, but due to limited space, reservations are required, and can be made on the shop website's Events page: www.yarneshop.com/events Come join the crowd for a relaxing and fun afternoon.

During the worst of the covid19 pandemic, the accessibility of raw materials as well as finished products for the yarn industry, especially natural materials like wool, was seriously restricted due to production shutdowns. This resulted in making it exceedingly difficult for my suppliers to fill yarn orders, where in some cases, delivery times were more than 6 months.

Over the past month there have been deliveries for backordered yarns, one of them being the Plymouth Encore Hot Cakes. I have finally been able to restock most of the colors I ordered as can be seen in the photos with this post. The tube scarf hanging with the skeins of Hot Cakes was made from one Cake. If you have been wanting to try out this popular worsted weight yarn, now is a good time. Each generous skein has around 5 different colors, weighs 200 grams, 404 yards, uses US 8 needle / US H hook, 75% acrylic / 25% wool making it machine washable with tumble dry on low. Pattern support is great, with many designs requiring just 1 Cake, making projects a real bargain at $14.00 / Cake.
