I met Michael Jackson on the island of St. Maarten in Caribbean. The Vegas show I was with had a 4 month gig at one of the showrooms at an exclusive resort and he was vacationing there with Diana Ross. After we had finished a show, 3-4 of us went outside to relax and Michael, who had just watched the show, just came strolling up to us and we all started chatting. He was fantastically funny and loved to talk about music. He basically reviewed our entire show and was very kind and complementary. When he left, he said, “Guys I have some new music coming out that’s going to change EVERYTHING!” He laughed and turned to leave but then turned around once more and repeated the word, “Everything!” So about 4 months later the album, Thriller, came out and well, changed everything! This version of Human Nature is based on Kent Nishimura’s great arrangement. The right hand gets quite a workout!! The guitar is another masterpiece by master luthier, Sheldon Schwartz. It has been a privilege to play Sheldon’s guitars over the years and an honor to be able to call him a friend.

Your Song written by with lyrics by Bernie Taupin. “How wonderful life is while you’re in the world” is such a meaningful and poignant message that pretty much says it all. So, take care yourselves, be good to one another and have a blessed day!

The arrangement is by (Sting’s guitarist). It’s beautiful! I ended up adding a bunch of stuff but the core arrangement is his and stands on its own as a wonderfully crafted artistic expression of beauty.

Of course, the incredible guitar you see and hear speaks for itself and is the work of master luthier ! He is a world class guitar maker and I’m blessed to be able to call him a good friend!!
