: Today, I'm doing research on influential German director, Max Reinhardt, who directed the first version of the original play, "Spring Awakening," in Berlin, Germany in 1906. What strikes me most about this man is how many theatre companies he and his friends opened (there has to be at least 6 or 7...) just because they were inspired by a certain type of theatre or wanted to fight a certain censure law. It reminded me so much of the roots of Opsis and how we got started....perhaps we're just a little late on following this German expressionist trend!-Sara Costello

Ladies and gentleman! Opsis Theatre Company is happy to announce our next production, coming this August: “The Phantom Tollbooth!”

“The Phantom Tollbooth” tells the story of a bored young boy named Milo, who unexpectedly receives a magic tollbooth one afternoon. Having nothing better to do, Milo decides to drive through it in his toy car. The tollbooth transports him to a magical land called the Kingdom of Wisdom, where he acquires two faithful companions, has riveting adventures, and goes on a quest to rescue the princesses of the kingdom--Princess Rhyme and Princess Reason--from the castle of air.
