The Haunted Mansion on Homestead

It was an incredible night of Trick or Treaters here at the Haunted Mansion on Homestead! I think we had a record. And it was great to hear not one, but multiple people mention how Trick or Treating on our block felt like they were "in one of those 80s Halloween movies," with the bustling streets filled with kids. It was so much fun, and our awesome neighbors are a huge part of making that happen!

We'll stay lit tonight (11/1) as an encore, but tomorrow the ghosts return to their winter home until next year!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We have our 5 winners for our first LA GRANGE PARK TOUR OF HAUNTS Halloween Contest! Thank you to the whole community for voting. And our map had over 10,000 views! Not bad for a town with a population of 13,500!

444 N Spring Ave. Watch out for these guys. They have a lot of family and friends. ;) But what could be sweeter and simpler than a classic Monster House! Even I had to slam on my brakes and back up so I could get a photo!

Cutest Creeps
1518 Newberry showed us that some cute inflatables and a love of Halloween helps make the neighborhood so much more festive!

Best Overall Display
423 N Stone Ave is the winner! There were a lot of houses in the running, but the detail and scene at 423 blew our voters away. Great job!

1) A Home Haunt can only win 1 category. In a situation where a haunt has a majority of votes in 2 or more categories, The Haunted Mansion on Homestead will determine the winning category for the Haunt.
2) Winners aren't eligible to win their category again for 3 years (winners this year are eligible again in 2028). They can win other categories next year..
3) The Haunted Mansion on Homestead will decide the tie-breaker in the event of ties.
4) Voting ends at 11PM on October 30th. Additional votes after that time will not be reflected.

"MOM, MOM LOOK! THE STARFISH IS BACK!"

I was able to get away from the hospital for a couple hours and got to talk to many of you in front of our Haunt. Thank you to everyone who have us in their thoughts and wishes of good health for our son.

Just as touching was the surprising number of children who remembered our Starfish was missing for a day, and then found. They were..really excited he was back. We have projections, animations, and a 15 foot tall ghost pinwheel. But the star (pun slightly intended) of the show this year is Patrick the Starfish.

We are continuing to navigate the hospital and a very long road to recovery. The good news is we're hoping for a discharge early next week.

So far we've been able to keep things running. I know we will start the very busy season starting this weekend, so please understand if we can't get to things broken or missing this weekend. But I'm going to try. Hopefully we'll have some level of normalcy next weekend.
