We’re casting for our cross-country summer tour of:
Cthulhu: The Musical!

This is a paid performance opportunity.

We’re casting for just ONE role in this show, who will play two different characters.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Detective John Lagrasse is searching for a murderer. Francine Thurston’s uncle vanished without a trace. The only clue to both mysteries is a bizarre statue worshiped by a nightmarish cult. And it’s leading both of them out to sea, towards a mysterious island they see in their nightmares— and towards insanity.
But, you know, with singing puppets.
The show is what, in a sensible universe, would be impossible: a feature-length musical comedy adaptation of one of the least musical or comedic stories ever — HP Lovecraft’s cosmic horror classic, The Call of Cthulhu— written to be performed entirely with puppets.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Jenkins: Anarchist goofball. Mischievous sidekick. Sailor-stereotype who speaks with a pirate-y accent.
George Angell: Freud, except he’s the one that wants to schtup your mom.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Fill out audition form at the link in our Instagram bio!
Auditions will be held virtually! Sign up for a time slot. We will send you sides and a confirmation with meeting link once you are signed up.
Upload headshot and resume in google form.
Prepare a song around 16-32 bars of a pop/rock genre song to be sung acapella (can be from a musical or just something on the radio!)
We will ask you to read sides and possibly do some puppetry exercises(bring your own puppet if you have one!)

SCHEDULE/INFO:
Virtual rehearsals will start in April, with in-person rehearsals starting in May (exact dates/times tbd)
Additional minimal meetings and read-thrus held virtually are a possibility in March as well.
Shows will perform: June-July 2024, touring across the country with a group of 10-11

You can be based ANYWHERE, but priority is given to those in either the Portland or Ashland areas.
Puppetry experience is not required, but it’s preferred! Also preferred if you’ve seen some of our shows before.
