There are so many ways to make a Moon Calendar! Come check it out this Sunday, August 4th at my Watercolor Moon Calendar class in La Grande! August 4th is the new moon so it's the perfect time to unwind with watercolors. I'll teach you the painting techniques you'll need to know as well as how to identify the upcoming moon phases for your calendar layout. This is the second class at Studio 4 but it is a stand alone class! Meaning no experience or attendance at a prior class in required. All supplies included! I’m excited to be teaching my first series of Moon Calendar classes at Studio 4 this summer! These classes are special because they’re three hours long, giving participants time to learn even more watercolor techniques. In the first class on June 2nd, I will show a simple method for painting clouds in addition to teaching you how to create a moon calendar. I will continue to teach a new technique in each class. In my art practice I like to spend time building skills and time getting lost in flow simply for the sake of pleasure. This class will incorporate both. Lucky for us, research now shows that participating in art activities reduces stress and increases life span, even if it’s just once a month.

Each class takes place just prior to a new moon so that our moon calendars will be ready before the beginning of each cycle. You can take just one class, or come to all of them, creating your own monthly art practice in conjunction with the moon phases. The skills you will learn in class are highly transferable to a home practice.

All supplies are included and no experience is necessary. You can expect to relax and have fun.

This week at The 906 Garden! We checked in with nettle+dandelion and fir tip+honey teas, did 3 minutes of mindfulness, filled, leveled, and planted the new bed, made cyanotypes, and more plant signs. It was a lot of fun. We meet one more time on June 3rd for some last plantings and activities with local Master Herbalist
