Tia Whitney Kurtz is a ceramic sculptor who has a special way with horses. She’ll show her work at Studio #10 in this year’s Skagit Valley Studio Tour.

Here’s what she said about how she started working in ceramics: “My love of figurative clay sculpture started with a workshop in 2010. The feel of the clay in my hands while watching the personality of the figure as it comes to life has had me hooked ever since.”

This summer Tia has been invited to be one of three featured artists in the 2026 Focus Gallery, presented as part of Art at the Depot during the 2026 Anacortes Arts Festival! Check it out!
