When I worked at the gallery on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA, I was fortunate to meet many influential people. One person in particular was Sheikh Mohammed, the Supreme Ruler of Dubai. I was tasked with cataloging his personal collection of Islamic pottery, which contained many Persian Kashan and Nishapor slip painted bowls and vessels. It was a fabulous project and I learned a lot about ancient pottery techniques.
