Looking for something to do on Saturday since Sunday is already booked with brunch?

What: Native tree and shrub restoration project
Where: Ronald R. Rhein Environmental Study Area i.e.,the EcoPlot (follow dirt road after Sharadin Road crosses under Rt. 222)
When: Saturday May 3 at 10:00 AM
Who: You and everyone you know (including kids!)

Why: Dr. Chris Habeck is conducting a forest restoration experiment to understand best management practices for the restoration of woodlands that have been degraded by exotic species. Part of this experiment involves reintroducing native trees and shrubs at the Ronald R. Rhein Environmental Study Area, owned by Kutztown University. If you would like to help Dr. Habeck and his undergraduate researchers explore solutions to local threats to native biodiversity by planting some trees (and having a heck of a lot of fun), put on your boots and gloves and head out to the EcoPlot and lend a hand this Saturday. The event is family friendly and there will be opportunities for young and old to dig holes, plant trees, and learn about ecological restoration in the process.

This event is rain or shine.

Contact Dr. Habeck if you have any questions at 608-772-0864
