PRESS RELEASE// New Public Art Ribbon Cutting: Kuna Celebrates America 250
Kuna, Idaho (June 5th, 2026): The City of Kuna, along with the Kuna Arts and History Center and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7019, is hosting a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at 329 W. Main Street, Kuna, Idaho.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the City of Kuna worked with muralist Julie Bloomfield, the Veterans of Foreign Wars SGT Devin Daniels Post 7019, and the Kuna Arts Commission to bring a mural to the VFW building on Main Street. The City of Kuna’s goal was to create a project that has longevity in the community and reflects the values of Kuna by uplifting and commemorating veterans and America’s special anniversary.
Artist Julie Bloomfield stated that she was “drawn to this project because of the mural’s connection to the United States and the Fourth of July.” She sees the project as a way to honor veterans who play a huge part in our history, and to remember their service for generations to come.
Mayor Joe Stear stated, “We are so grateful to live in this, the greatest country on earth. As we celebrate Americas 250th birthday, it is our honor to have the opportunity to have this beautiful piece of art grace our wonderful city. May God bless America!”
This ribbon-cutting is one of several special activities that the City of Kuna is adding, leading up to their annual 4th of July Celebration on July 4th, 2026. The celebration starts with a Freedom Fun Run along the Kuna Greenbelt hosted by local business Freedom Fitness and leads to the main celebration at Bernie Fisher Park which starts at 6:00 PM, and includes over 15 food trucks, music and big fireworks show.
