we had a great august session of
ART & NATURE this weekend! 🎨🌵
we created a slotted cactus sculpture painted with acrylic! we studied the anatomy of a cactus and learned how cacti store water and keep predators away.
we all sampled a delicious prickly pear drink!

summer time is firefly time!
saturday’s ART&NATURE workshop was allll about FIREFLIES! we created a nightlight painting featuring a magical forest using acrylic, charcoal, colored pencil and watercolor washes. we learned all about fireflies and how they make their light and talked about the similarities between firefly light and LED… both energy efficient, don’t produce heat and can create patterns or signals. we played a firefly scavenger hunt and tested our knowledge!

ART&NATURE summer camp 2026 wrap up!
DAY 1 : we used several different mediums while working on the bird bodies for our mobile…acrylic paint, markers and colored pencil. we also started the base coat on our larger slotted bird sculpture!

DAY 2 : we worked on the wings for our bird mobiles and assembled them! we added patterns to the bottom side of our larger slotted bird sculpture!

DAY 3 : we added patterns to our wings and bodies and assembled our larger slotted bird sculpture! we went on a nature hike in the woods-what an adventure! not only did we see birds but other wildlife too!

we had a great camp with a fun group of young artists!
