Kokomo Art Association

Kokomo Art Association The Kokomo Art Association is a not-for-profit organization that brings art to the community and the community to art. Established in 1926. Why is the KAA here?

The KAA is a Not for profit 501c3 here to promote and sustain the creation and appreciation of the arts in Kokomo and Howard County: to bring art to the community and to bring the community to art. To serve as guardian of the Permanent Collection of Hoosier Art. To raise community awareness of the many contributions of the arts to the quality of community life. To stimulate creativity, expression,

dialogue, respect for talent and appreciation of beauty in all aspects of civic life. To provide opportunities for local artists of all ages to discover and develop their talents, exhibit their work and experience public scrutiny and commendation. To enhance the community's image as a place where the arts are recognized as a contributor to the quality of life; to enhance the community's attractiveness to corporations that regard these ideals as important; and to find visible avenues of community service and support. To uphold and advance the welfare of the arts.

There’s A LOT happening downtown Friday night.

And we mean a LOT.

More than 40 participating groups will be out from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, with everything from art and crafts to games, food, giveaways, health resources, school supplies and activities for the kids.

Want to know who’s participating and where you can find them? Check out the complete list at firstfridaykokomo.com and start planning your route.

Then come downtown Friday night and make your way around. Stop somewhere new. Try something you’ve never tried. Support a local organization. Grab a snack. Let the kids have some fun.

There’s plenty to discover. See you downtown!
