Fellow Moriah Evans will premiere […/+*^%€£¥$&@!!!!^^^] at The Chocolate Factory this month! To learn more about the project please read below. Moriah worked on the performance during her February residency.
. .

Dear Digital Expanse… please come to see […/+*^%€£¥$&@!!!!^^^] on June 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13 at 7pm.

[…/+*^%€£¥$&@!!!!^^^] confronts the body as a site of political and existential conundrums. The title is intentionally unsayable, engaging that which cannot be uttered in the ineffable present, a way to stay with the body. It resists the explicative we so often demand of the historical moment and instead offers dance and performance as a form to negotiate these complex times.

This work is made with some amazing collaborators—Performers: Cyril Baldy (.cyrilbaldy), Malcolm-x Betts (), Chloë Engel (), Kris Lee (), João dos Santos Martins (), Varinia Canto Vila (); Lighting Design: Madeline Best (); Scenic Design: Doris Dziersk (); Sound Design: Ian Douglas Moore (); Costumes: Strauss Bourque-LaFrance (); Dramaturgy: Joshua Lubin-Levy (); Studio Management: Margaret Knowles ().

The process is highly competitive; in 2025, Loghaven received almost 1300 applications. Before applying, we strongly recommend reading through our FAQs and looking at the bios of our past Fellows to determine if the residency is a fit for you and your work.

"I would describe Loghaven as a rare and generative balance of deep solitude and meaningful connection. It offers the kind of uninterrupted time that allows you to truly listen—to your ideas, to the landscape, and to the quieter instincts in your practice—while also fostering a cohort experience that feels genuinely supportive and engaged. The environment encourages reflection and risk-taking without pressure, and the sense of community develops organically, even among artists with very different approaches. I would absolutely recommend Loghaven to another artist, especially someone looking for space to think expansively, reset, and be both challenged and nourished by their surroundings and peers."

Alexander Noice has a new album, Perpetually and Forever, out on June 12th. The single titled "Ayler in Loghaven" dropped last week, and here Alex talks a bit about the process of making this track, much of which happened during his residency at Loghaven. Please read on to learn more and listen. Congratulations Alexander!

New single out today! Ayler in Loghaven! Off my album Perpetually and Forever, out June 12th.

I made the majority of this track in Knoxville during an amazing artist residency at . It’s quite rare to have long stretches of time, let alone four weeks, dedicated entirely to making music without having to deal with many distractions of modern life. It was a super nourishing experience, and I got a lot done during that residency, including three tracks off the upcoming album.

This one came together really fast and was super fun to work on. It channels an energy I had wanted to explore for a while, combining super aggressive electronic, almost hip-hop-inspired production in the vein of Death Grips or The Knife with glitched-out saxophone, much of which was supplied by the awesome Joe Santa Maria, along with other samples pulled from recordings I love. The opening sample is of a train that would pass near the residency during my daily morning walk from my cabin over to the studio. The sound of the train and me walking on the gravel had an almost ASMR quality before it gets interrupted by 808s and verbed-out snare blasts. You can hear train sounds pitch shifted and scattered texturally throughout the track if you listen for it.

I hope you have fun checking this one out. Dare I say it’s a banger, so play it loud! Photo by ( #📷 )

Brandon Clifford mines ancient construction techniques to envision transformative architectural futures. Renowned for animating megalithic sculptures to perform tasks, he is the director and co-founder of Matter Design and an associate professor of architecture at MIT. Clifford has pioneered 'projective archaeology,' architecture's version of magical realism, which creatively blends historical events with imaginary futures.
Clifford received his Master of Architecture from Princeton University and his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech. He has held prestigious positions such as the LeFevre Fellow at The Ohio State University and the John G. Williams Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Arkansas.
His acclaimed book, ‘The Cannibal’s Cookbook,’ exemplifies his dedication to integrating ancient wisdom into contemporary practice with theatrical captivation. His notable projects at Matter Design, including 'Walking Assembly,' 'Cyclopean Cannibalism,' and 'Janus,' highlight his commitment to merging technical skill with cultural significance, ceremony, and mythology.
Clifford's innovative approach has earned him numerous awards, including the American Academy in Rome Prize, TED Fellowship, MacDowell Fellowship, SOM Prize, Design Biennial Boston Award, and the Architectural League Prize for Young Architects & Designers. His speculative built works challenge conventional practices and propose ancient yet relevant solutions to contemporary issues.
In his recent work, Clifford explores the potential of architecture as a mutagen, initiating new directions and expanding the role of the architect through spectacle, mysticism, and innovative design. His visionary projects redefine the boundaries of architectural practice, projecting new, viable constructive opportunities for the future.

Anna RG (she/they) works in composition, drawing and community organizing, towards possibilities of sick and disabled music making and listening. She most recently presented Sick Music Center at Recess Art, an installation, library and community music center, which held a study group for disabled and sick musicians, workshops in access and music, presented a community variety show and premiered a new performance built on research into histories of pianos made to be played in bed, with dancer lu yim and poet Funto Omojola.
In 2025, she was also artist-in-residence at Issue Project Room, investigating ideas of access, illness, and ableism through the sounds of air purifier, and scores written for musicians in bed.

For a decade, she toured with a research-based ballad project, Anna & Elizabeth, their Smithsonian Folkways album called a “radical expansion of what folk songs are supposed to do” by The New Yorker. They performed at Carnegie Hall, Big Ears Festival (where she was a guest curator of traditional music), NPR’s Tiny Desk and many other venues not currently accessible to high risk/immunocompromised artists.

Anna has collaborated widely as a musician, including with the Aizuri Quartet, Lonnie Holley, Glen Hansard, Paul Wiancko, Jim White, and the dearly departed Susan Alcorn, and has won blue ribbons in fiddle and banjo contests across Appalachia. They hold an MFA in sculpture from Bard College, is a MacDowell Fellow, and has exhibited at Tulca Festival (Galway). She is a member of the disabled-led collective Artists In Resistance NYC (AIRNYC) which operates a lending library of the community-owned air purifiers which are available for anyone to borrow, for free.
