Coke Morgan (MR. PINKY & MORE) was based in LA and NYC for over 20 years and traveled the world as a singing actor. Local credits include Little Mermaid as the Chef (Palace Players), Fiddler on the Roof as Avram (Word Players), Footloose as Shaw Moore (WP), The Fantasticks as El Gallo (WP), Peter Pan as Captain Hook (Oak Ridge Playhouse), Jane Eyre as Edward Rochester (WP), Lend Me a Tenor as Tito Merrelli (ORP), The Secret Garden as Archibald Craven (WP), Ragtime as Father (WP).

It’s 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular “Corny Collins Show.” When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network… all without denting her ‘do!

Ellen (PRUDY PINGLETON & MORE) is delighted to return to the Bijou stage under the direction of the supremely talented Lucy Maye Hubbard Wright. Most recently, you may have seen Ellen in the Word Players productions of Jane Eyre and Footloose, or in the Actors Co-op New Year’s Eve cabarets at the Rebecca Johnson Theatre. You also may have seen her in her youth (aka 2000-2010) appearing in, stage-managing, or costuming over 30 plays and cabarets as a company member of the Actors Co-op at the Blackbox Theatre. Ellen would like to thank all the beautiful fans for supporting live theatre and live music. Let’s keep making opportunities to share our love of the arts with each other and with Knoxville!

Len Causey (WILBUR TURNBLAD) is thrilled to be working with The WordPlayers again this year. His favorite musical theatre credits include Fiddler on the Roof, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Bye Bye Birdie, West Side Story, and Smoke on the Mountain. Len also serves on the board of trustees for Appalachian Ballet Company, where he performs annually in The Nutcracker and other ABC productions. He sends heartfelt thanks to his family and friends for their love, support, and patience.

BLAYQUE DUDLEY (LITTLE INEZ) is so proud to be a part of her first production with The WordPlayers this summer, Hairspray. This has been one of her biggest dream roles, and she is so grateful for this privilege. You may have seen Blayque in The Little Mermaid Jr., Aladdin Jr., The Lion King Jr. as Nala, High School Musical Jr. as Kelsi (NES), and most recently in The Emperor’s New Clothes as Madame Placket (ORP). She would like to thank her family, friends, and the actors that she has met along the way for supporting her in getting this far in her journey into the theatre world. She hopes you enjoy the show, and she is so excited foryou to see it.
