Title: Untitled (fractional n**e)
Technique: Oil and tempera on wood
Date: Since 1967
Dimensions: 102 x 80 cm (nine pieces)
Collection: Nile Rose Art Gallery

With the emphasis placed on the conception of space and composition, in the work Untitled (fractional n**e), from 1967, representations of beings that tower over each other are shown, until they form a heap of bodies as if each Who would be superimposed on top of the others, in an anguished existential struggle to overcome a situation that, in symbolic terms, refers to a hostile and chaotic universe; a world of nightmare that alludes to the inner entrails of the human being and the desperate soul of him in search of survival.
These highly expressive figures are located on a red background, which functions as an ambiguous space, reflected through various shades, from which representations of defined beings are projected based on a dense, thick and thick gestural stain, in which it highlights multiple chromatic textures (brown, ocher, earthy, gray, white and reddish) and such a materiality whose generous fillings tend to deform them. In the piece, drips of color are observed, as well as a large number of spontaneous and instinctive brush strokes of a very personal nature which allude, formally and iconographically, to the recovery of the human figure within a grotesque and violent environment, as a grieving and pessimistic expression. of an era. In terms of content, the piece proposes existential-type meditations, which seek to shock and move the viewer in the face of the threat of a tragic world of nightmares, which painfully affect the human soul.

Title: The Christ and the Four Virgins
Date: Not indicated in the work
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 24 inch x 24 inch
Collection: Nile Rose Art Gallery

The piece: Christ and the four Virgins, by Salvador Valero, is a personal interpretation of The Crucifixion, in it the Son of God is represented with his two hands nailed to both sides of said cross, his feet together also nailed to it, wearing just a cloak that covers her hips and sexual parts. A bleeding wound is observed on his right side, his face reclined towards that same side presents the typical gesture of pain, his head ends with the classic crown of thorns. Frontally, at the foot of the cross, the artist places four Virgins, two on each side.
Both Christ and the Virgins are painted in gold, with outlines in sepia and reddish tones, especially in the folds of the robes of the female presences, which are crowned by golden aureoles. All of them have their hands on their chests and the disproportion with respect to Christ is clear, which almost doubles them in size. Above the Virgins and below the vertical crossbar of the cross there are two round reddish figures, apparently two bleeding suns. Information? Write us a message.
