Karen Armstrong has been part of the YMCA since 2004. First as a member for over 20 years, and now as a board member for the last 15. 🧡

From teaching in Japan to nearly 20 years with the Missouri Department of Conservation, Karen's spent a career showing up for others. Retirement didn't slow her down. She just showed up here instead.

"Great workouts. Even better friends."

That's the whole thing, really. Come find your people too.

Hi! I’m Tina!

I have worked for the YMCA for 13 years. I retired from Truman State University in January and accepted the position of Membership Director here at the YMCA. I love being part of a small-town community where people know each other by name. One of the best feelings working here is getting to know our members and help them feel welcome.

When I'm not working, you will find me spending time with friends and family, working out, exploring the backroads, stopping to take pictures, listening to music, or hanging out on the farm. I love sunsets, country roads, and just about anything that takes me outside.

I believe the YMCA is more than a place to work out. It's a place where friendships grow, families connect, and a community comes together.

I am so thankful to be a part of the YMCA family, and I look forward to meeting you. Don't hesitate to stop by and say hello. I'd love to get to know you!

Yay! Our new air conditioning system for the upstairs gym is now up and running!
Boston John Heating & Cooling has gone above and beyond during this process in helping us pick up and install the rental units, driving to St. Louis to pick up the new system when the transport company was taking too long and making sure the new system was installed as quickly as possible. We cannot recommend or thank them enough!
Sunbelt Rentals also went out of their way to allow us to pick up the temporary units while they were closed and to make sure we had everything we needed as we waited for the permanent system to arrive! We are so grateful for their assistance from both the Quincy and Kansas City locations!
