Hello everyone,🥳
At the beginning of this year, I had about 56 subscribers on my YouTube channel. I set a personal goal to release at least one cover song every month so that I could grow as a musician, stay consistent, and reach more listeners. Today, I am grateful to say that the channel has grown to about 1900 subscribers. I had hoped to reach 2000 by the end of the year, and even though I could not fully reach that number, I am truly thankful for the support and growth along the way.
From my very first video, I kept receiving copyright claims on almost every cover I released. That is what pushed me to start recreating my own music instead of using original tracks. I began building my own chord progressions using GarageBand and Logic Pro. I spent countless hours learning music creation, mixing and mastering, recording vocals, editing videos, and putting everything together.
Even after creating my own music, many covers still received copyright claims. I was not expecting any earnings from these videos, as earning on YouTube requires a lot of watch hours which I have not reached yet. Still, it can feel discouraging when so much time and effort goes into a cover and it ends up copyrighted anyway.
There were moments when I felt discouraged and frustrated, especially towards the later months of the year, but I did not give up. I stayed focused and continued releasing covers almost every month. Some of these covers took more than 40 hours each to complete. In the end, I am proud to say that I completed my goal of releasing 12 cover songs this year. This entire journey has been a huge learning experience, and that learning will continue into next year.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me this year by listening, watching, commenting, liking, and appreciating the hard work that went into each cover. Your encouragement truly means a lot to me.
