One of the tools I use to check the movement of my paintings is to put a mono filter on a photo of the painting. I use a LOT of bold color and pattern and every now and then, it’s good to check the composition. It’s also fun. If it doesn’t look good in black and white, it won’t work well in color either. And it’s fun. Come see this in full living color at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo from April 8th to May 5th. This painting is inspired by a poem by Judy Drechsler called “In My Garden”.

"Anatolian Garden" is up at Front Street Gallery in Poulsbo until October 4th. Come visit the gallery!

Sold! Melissa’s fabulous painting of this Great Blue Heron just left the gallery this weekend. We are all so excited for her. Her collages of our great northwest are fascinating to see. Enjoy that sunshine! Open 10-6 everyday, and we have air conditioning!☀️
