Thanks to everyone who joined us for our annual Gettysburg trip!

We had an incredible day exploring the battlefield, and as always, our guide brought many of us to tears.

Our stop at Adams County Winery was the perfect break, with great wine, frozen slushies, and even some pizza before heading back into town. The evening ghost walk was a lot of fun, and the spooky movies on the ride home made for the perfect ending to the day.

A huge thank you to our bus driver for getting us there and back safely, especially with the foggy conditions on the trip home.

Even with a brief rain shower, it turned out to be a fantastic day spent with an amazing group of people. We appreciate every one of you for making these trips so much fun, and we can’t wait to do it again.

Yesterday, Keriann and I had the opportunity to be invited as some of the first guests to experience The House Noir, and we have to say, it was a great experience.

From the minute you walk through the door, you can tell this isn’t your typical restaurant. The sealed envelope menu, the candlelit tables, and all the little details throughout the building really pull you into the experience. Every space has its own personality, and you can tell a lot of thought went into creating the atmosphere. There are even a few unexpected touches that had us laughing, but we will let you find that out for yourselves.

We started with the Panemorto Italian Bread Skulls, stuffed with mozzarella, white cheddar, and pecorino cheeses with a spicy-sweet tomato sauce for dipping. They disappeared pretty quickly.

For dinner, we ordered The Flesh and Fire Show for two, a 36-ounce wet-aged ribeye. Honestly, the presentation alone is worth seeing. The steak comes out hanging from a hook and chain before being finished tableside with a flamethrower. It was then sliced up and served with garlic whipped potatoes in a skull-shaped dish. It looked incredible, but more importantly, it tasted incredible. The steak was one of the most tender we’ve had in a long time.

The drinks were excellent, the portions were generous, and everything we had was packed with flavor. The staff was also fantastic—friendly, attentive, and clearly excited about what they’ve created there.

If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just dinner, The House Noir is definitely worth checking out. Josh Balz and his team have built something really unique, and we’re grateful we had the chance to experience it.
