Fun-A-Day returns to the DRAW! Opening this Saturday, Feb. 28, from 5-8:00 pm!

Fun-A-Day started in Pennsylvania in 2005, with an idea to create a piece of art every day in the month of January between a group of friends. The idea quickly became a hit with people and expanded into a creative phenomenon! The practice has spread across the country and even to other continents.

The DRAW will be opening a profound exhibition of several Fun-A-Day participants like last year, in an art exhibition full of artworks and projects that you won't want to miss. Stop by this Saturday evening to check it out with company and refreshments!

One Day Workshop: Eyeing, with Rebecca Holderness

Sunday, March 1st, 12 - 5 pm
At the DRAW at 20 Iwo Jima Lane

“Eyeing” are small group workshops designed to nurture and support creativity in uncertain times. “Eyeing” offers strategies to encourage creative story-making and to keep alive the creative impulse in all of us. Creativity is a central part of our humanity. The creative process can be a buffer against the stresses and anxieties of our time. Storytelling is fundamental to how we communicate at every moment of our lives. From daily recounting to art making or scholarship; We are telling stories. “Eyeing” sharpens and deepens this impulse, rebuilding individual agency and reinforcing a commitment to authenticity.

Creative Calm - Art Making for Stress Relief, classes return to the DRAW this month!

5 Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:45 am
February 25 - March 25
Taught by Coryn Nadeau

By creating art, we spend time connecting to our present mind & self and reach a state of mindful "flow". In this process-based class we will be finding a state of wellbeing through the use of different art materials and prompts. Through different guided meditative & projective art prompts you will strengthen your "Vagus Nerve", responsible for stress reduction in the brain and body. The prompts and activities will change weekly. Participants will leave the sessions with a sense of tranquility.

You can register through draw.corsizio.com. Like with all of our classes, you can pay what you can. Please register a week in advance to guarantee your spot.

Sikena Khadija: Between Water and Sky opening reception at Gallery on Saturday, February 7th, 5-7pm

Between Water and Sky explores the Hudson River and Erie Canal as places that hold memory, movement, and layered ideas of home. Through quiet landscapes shaped by fog and shifting skies, the series reflects on how land and water carry histories that remain present.

Sikena Khadija is a photographer and multidisciplinary artist based in the Hudson Valley. Her work explores Black memory, migration, and the ways landscape, especially rivers and waterways, carry stories over time. Working across photography, sound, and video, she is drawn to the space between water and sky as a place of reflection, belonging, and return. Her work has been exhibited throughout the region and has been supported by Arts Mid-Hudson.
