Once upon a time in the west I fell down the rabbit hole and woke up in a place where dreams and reality meet:

The hourglass has officially been turned over and there’s nothing left to do but watch the gravity flow of songs fly away from the comfort of my little nest 🪺 This album was born in the hills of Glendale, California on a dead end street high above Chevy Chase Canyon, where the coyotes howl and Bubu the cat roams free.  and I spent many moons exploring the stories that have shaped my life, creating a few of our own, and finding the thread that ties us all together. With Captain  at the helm, we followed that thread until we found the end of it. Here’s where the story begins…

The legendary voice of The Gipsy Kings went into the studio with Levon Minassian, the renowned musician of that rare instrument the duduk, to perform, with their own artistic sensibility, the Armenian anthem:”Die Yaman.”

A song that presently takes on an even more universal dimension at a time when the world is questioning the future.

The power of Nicolas Reyes’s voice, bringing all the emotion of the Gypsy spirit, turns this traditional melody into a sacred air. I’ve always been afraid of everything. Anxious. Yearning. Sorry. Worried. Lucky. I was a sensitive child and I’m a sensitive adult. My whole life I’ve only ever wanted to fall in love. I’ve lost people I needed. But this year I’m holding on. I made this record once and then I made it again. I started over. I held on. I’m the Worrier, but that’s my strength. This record is a mirror. I hope these songs make you feel less alone, less afraid. I hope you see yourself somewhere in them.

Even as a scared child, I had a dream to sing songs and write songs and perform and maybe I’d fall in love along the way. The dream has a heartbeat and it’s loud.

Here’s some songs about it all. It’s yours. Thank goodness. Happy Friday the 13th. I’m superstitious. I’m lucky. I want to believe.

I kept telling myself I’d wait for the first snow to move on. I thought I wrote it for someone, hoping they’d hear- but I think it’s a note from the future, folded and passed back for me to read. And now it’s for you too. 💌

I needed a soundtrack for the moment after that first kiss, when nothing is ever the same. Based on a true story. The blush of Austin, TX heat on your cheek.
