Black lives, black souls, black love, black beauty, black power, black mothers & daughters & sons & fathers, blackout beyond tuesdays & hashtags... place where the sun slips off her axis & works out her fitful sleep for a day where hope can live--- real hope. Not the hope that is just another name for death, not a cover like a body bag of the last 400 years & more. Black out. Black out. Let that other evil clogging the heart of this world choke for air. There is no beauty without truth.

Dear All, Programming at Brush & Reed will be CANCLED until further notice. This is a decision made out of love, not panic. A large amount of those who contract Coronavirus might not be severely effected, but there are enough folks in our community who are quite vulnerable to it-- those with respiratory issues, those with susceptible immune systems, those caring for sick loved ones, etc... It's up to us to act accordingly. After much consultation--- the risk out weighs the benefit & the cost to business is minimal in comparison to the wellbeing of those we love. I would add that the other ways we care for eachother-- in the ways panic has a way of proliferating hate, racism, etc-- are of equal importance. Going forward, Brush & Reed will be seeking out other ways to create digital connections. Stay tuned. Wishing you all the best, Jena
