Ever since Mark Tayag previewed this mini, I have been insanely stoked to get around to paint it. It's taken me a while, but I hope this is worth the wait.

One of my favorite yautja, probably the only one I'd bet on against the wolf, Ahab. Killer of engineers. One of the legendary elders and one of the baddest hunters in the galaxy.

Done entirely with Turbo Dork new Fauxlinsky brushes.

If you want me opinion on them? I gave my old daily drivers away. That's my opinion.

There is some of the new color hiding in here, but that's another talk for another video. Thank you SO much to the folks at Turbodork for letting me test drive their products.

Got my hands on the new Turbo Dork colors early and I am SO excited to show you guys. Stay tuned. I have a big 🦖 thing planned with them as well as some other tests with minis. Those ones in the back we will talk about a little later 🤐 but Viridian Sea up front may be my new favorite.

I finished my first mini with the new Turbo Dork Fauxlinsky brushes and I give them two big ol Samus thumbs up 👍👍
I have yet to use the two smaller detail brushes yet ( I have an ahab predator mini ready for that) so.ill report back after the second mini and I am filming stuff for a little short video as well.

For this piece, I did my base colors, then thinned some Turbodork metallics and went over top, then did washes and panel liner, matte coated the mini, added gloss back to the squished metroids, then added some moldy accents with Americana Bloom (that s**t is so cool)

I had the tips gunked up several times in the process but they were easy to get clean and the tip is staying 100% so far at a nice point.

Always remember the fundamentals like pull don't push the brush, don't let paint go up towards the barrel too far, wash thoroughly with a good quality brush cleaner like master's, etc.

I have something super special planned for you all as well because I should have my hands on their new Overdrive Metallics next week and I have something pretty special planned for that.

A perfect match.

On top of my usual awesome stuff from Papsikels, I am now also going to be carrying figures and pieces from Vertex Nebula
Same quality resin we use in the minis will make these figures the toughest you can get on Etsy.

If you've been wanting retro stuff for transformers, macross, etc, there is so much more to come.
