Congratulations to 7th grader Jaden Netto & 8th grader Bella Weissert for singing at the 21st annual Great 8 Winter Games opening ceremony!

Jaden & Bella were selected after a round of auditions to represent Kingsford alongside 12 other musicians from the neighboring school districts.

Great job to everyone involved in the planning and organization of this event and good luck athletes!

Congratulations to Dickinson County Community Theatre on an incredible production of Finding Nemo Jr! And shoutout to Kingsford Choir students: Gray Harrison, Reed Harrison, Nora Mondloch, Sydney Phillips, Elayna Morency, and Catherine Majors on an amazing show!

A couple weeks back, four of our incredibly talented students were able to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Mr. Rogan made the journey downstate and was blown away by the incredible performances of the choirs (Jonathan, Mackenzie, & Olivia) and piano (Aiden). They all represented the Upper Peninsula proudly, making up the largest membership from an UP district at both performances. Congratulations to all of you!

Thank you also to our incredible Kingsford Music Boosters who provided scholarships for most of these students. Your dedication to their education and musicianship is greatly appreciated!

The beginning of this summer, Mr. Rogan has been hard at working preparing for his time with the Pine Mountain Music Festival as part of their UPstarts concert series starting tonight!

The festival is back in Iron Mountain after a hiatus and we are hoping to pack the Braumart! Tickets are available online and at the door for $35, there is also a “Pay as you’re able” option with a $10. Tomorrow night, 7:30pm, at the Braumart! We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to 8th Graders Hailey Cherrette and Carson Grigsby on winning this years 8th Grade Choir Directors Award. They were recognized at yesterday’s 8th Grade Promotion.

This award started at KMS in 2024 to help acknowledge outstanding choral students that have lent into the revitalization of the choral program with their dedication, leadership, and musicality. Hailey and Carson will join a growing list of KMS Choir Alumni with inaugural recipient Ayden.

Congratulations also to all our 8th grade students who will now be at KHS in the fall, we are so excited to have you in the KHS Choirs!

The Kingsford Choirs had a very successful day at University of Wisconsin- Green Bay this weekend! With a total of nine events, it was a busy day of music making that involved 20 KHS Choir students.

Score of 1: Section Leader Quartet, Hayden Henes (classical and musical, Olivia Sage, Chamber Singers, and Aullette Finn

Score of 2: Madrigal Choir, Emily Strickler, and Lyric Adams

Congratulations to all KHS Music students on a successful day, your hard work and dedication truly paid off! In total, the KHS Music Department had 16 events; 9 receiving a score of one and 8 with a score of two.

Also special shoutout out to Mrs. Kalyn Whiteside for accompanying the vocal soloists.

Today is the day! KHS Band and Choir students will heading down to Green Bay for WSMA State Solo & Ensemble. This event is for all students who qualified with a *1 at districts in March and will include multiple soloists and groups.

This week's senior shoutout is Jade Miller! Jade has been apart of the Kingsford Choirs for the past 5 years and is a soprano. She helps lead her section and often serves as a mentor for younger choir member. We will miss Jade and all of her humor she brings; we wish her the best of luck at NMU (Go Wildcats)!
