“Heart on the Horizon”

Got inspired from this gorgeous piece of maple burl that I recently pulled out of storage last month. This nice amethyst heart from the 2022 Tucson Gem Show finally spoke up and told me how it wanted to live. I added a fun little inlay feature as well that I like to call “The Candy Tree.” The trunk is Bolivian rosewood and the gemstone leaves are made of malachite, jade, bumblebee jasper, aventurine, red jasper and carnelian. The heart is mounted on square steel rods and the whole sculpture is attached to a heavy steel base for sturdiness. It would make for lovely mantle decor. Come by and check it out!

New batch of burly cuties 🤎.
Featured heart is mesquite and huckleberry oak, with pink coral inlay down the center…reminding us of the importance of both connection and sovereignty in relationship. I made 5 of these little guys…other burl woods including walnut, manzanita, aspen and buckeye. These are great to hang on your wall and they are the perfect wedding gift!

“Balance”

The aim with this piece was to create a gravity-defying modern look, using a hefty steel base plate to make this come to fruition. With welded steel geometry supporting a gorgeous specimen of redwood burl driftwood, this piece is designed to highlight and honor the unaltered organic beauty of our natural world. While man continues to develop impressive structures and technologies, the sacred vitality of nature will forever reign supreme.

Another wedding gift for Meghan, one of my favorite customers. Tahoe aspen burl w inlayed lapis and a smidge of turquoise, merged with Tahoe manzanita burl w inlayed turquoise and a smidge of lapis. The red coral inlay down the middle brings the two halves together. Good luck to you, Quinlan & Ashley! 💒

Abalone 🌙’s galore! This is just a small sample of a massive batch of crescent moons I have available just in time for Xmas gifts. They all have 2 different looks of the shell patterns on the front and back. And they slide along sterling silver and gold filled snake chain. All abalone is from the N. California coast. Come and see them all for yourself or next Wednesday night at the top of Broad St. during Nevada City Victorian Xmas.
