Veteran sword master Bob Anderson (who had fenced in the Olympics and was Darth Vader’s stunt double in Empire and Jedi) called Viggo Mortensen "the best swordsman I've ever trained." Mortensen was so good and dedicated, he did his own stunts and insisted on only using a real steel sword instead of significantly lighter aluminum swords or safer rubber swords, which were manufactured for battle scenes and stunts.

Shooting a gun does not make you a badass, But shooting an arrow from the back of a horse, with no bridle, no saddle, all while jumping over a 2' hurdle does.

HEAVY METAL -"The Motion Picture" opened in theatres on August 7th, 1981 (Canada and other select territories). Happy 43rd year movie premiere date anniversary!

Synopsis: Adventures from deep space to futuristic New York, and beyond. Each world and story is dominated by the presence of the Loch'nar -- the sum of all evils manifest as a glowing green sphere whose power infects all times, all galaxies, all dimensions.

To some, it appears as treasure, a green jewel they must possess. Others worship it as a god. Few escape it. Even in death and through death its powers continue. From war to war and world to world it seems invincible.
