FUDA Class of ’24 Senior Spotlight💙🎓 SIDNEY has been dancing with FUDA for 15 years. She started when she was 3 and joined Dance Co when she was 7. Shes been on every team from Hot Shots to Senior Elites!
Sidney will be attending University of Oregon to major in Cinema Studies this upcoming fall.

*My most memorable moment would have to be getting MVA for the first time in 2023. That moment of getting called back in auditions for the first time ever is a feeling I genuinely don’t think will ever be topped. Being around so many people that supported me when it was actually solidified that I made it was more important to me than I can articulate into words.
*My favorite fuda tradition is 100% oaks park. All of the memories of going straight from the sleepover to the park to dance and spend time together was so much fun!
*I’m gonna miss the friendships and silly in-between moments the most. From the inside jokes of the back line during turns, to lifts gone horribly askew during vibe attack, to running around grocery outlet for popsicles. I’ve had the most fun with the people I’ve had the pleasure of dancing with all these years and their presence will be something I will miss greatly.
*Fun Fact: This past year I became a Silver Key Award Recipient in Photography (with a photo taken at nutcracker!) for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, which is the largest art competition in the country!

FUDA Class of ’24 Senior Spotlight💙🎓 RACHEL has been dancing with FUDA for 10 years. Rachel will be attending University of Oregon in the fall  

One of my favorite FUDA memories is dancing Waltz of the Flowers in the 2022 Nutcracker.

My favorite FUDA tradition is screaming as loud as you can when the curtains close at the end of every performance. I will really miss all of the friends I’ve made at FUDA. They are some of the most important people to me, and I love them a lot. I’d like to thank Ms. Carene and Ms. Ashley for all the fun memories and great advice they’ve given over the years, they made such a good impact on me growing up, and I really appreciate all of it.

FUDA Class of ’24 Senior Spotlight💙🎓 Madelyn “FEENEY” has been dancing with FUDA for 15 years. Feeney will be attending San Diego State University in the fall  

One of my favorite earliest memories was participating in Tap Production because it was the first time I got to dance with the older dancers who I looked up to and admired. My more recent favorite memory was dancing to Mary Did You Know during beautiful savior, a senior tradition, with my dance sisters.

One lesson that I learned from dance is how to persevere through any challenges. Whether it’s with training my body or my mind. I learned to never back down or give up when things got hard.

Advice I would give a younger dancer is to never be afraid of vulnerability, it can end up being your greatest strength.

My favorite FUDA tradition would have to be Buddies!! As a younger buddy it’s amazing having someone to look up to and make you feel special but then getting to reciprocate that as an older buddy. I love the connections we make over the years.

What I will miss the most would have to be spending long hours at the studio every day and the long but very fun weekends competing with my dance family.

FUDA Class of ’24 Senior Spotlight 💙🎓 KIRSTEN has been dancing with FUDA for 15 years. Kristen will be attending Arizona State University.

* My favorite FUDA memory is when I was little and I watched the big girls dance for the first time and decided that I wanted to be like them someday

* My favorite FUDA tradition is the sleepover/lock-in when we would all play games (bang & shipwreck are my favs!)

* I will miss the teachers, dancers, performing, dancing every day, the place I am most myself, and all the little and big memories i’ve made here

* fun fact: I love spirit weeks!!!

FUDA Class of ‘24 Senior Spotlight 💙🎓 ISABELLE has danced with FUDA for 12 years. Isabelle is attend OSU Honors College this fall majoring in bioengineering

My favorite memory was last year’s end of year party when all the team captains had their makeup done by their respective teams. It was funny to see everyone’s transformations (especially my own)

A lesson I have learned from dance is that perfect is a good goal to work towards, but will never be achievable.

A piece of advice I would give is to put yourself out there and give 100% to whatever you do. It doesn’t matter if you think you look like a fool or make mistakes as long as you are having fun. What you put in, you get out, so give all of yourself to whatever you do.

My favorite performances are either Royalty, Sad Day, Like She’s Never Danced Before, Skeleton Me, or To Build A Home. They are all very different from each other, but what I love about them is that they were all very cathartic in their own way.

My favorite FUDA tradition is Dance Co Sleepover or Vibe Attack. They gave me the opportunity to connect with my teammates and foster a welcoming community.

What I will miss the most about FUDA is walking into the studio every single day. I will miss the built in community I had that supported and inspired me for so long.

FUDA Class of ‘24 Senior Spotlight 💙🎓 EVA has danced with FUDA for 13 years. Eva will be attending University of Oregon with a major in Child behavioral health.

One of my favorite memories at FUDA was vibe attack week this past summer. I remember not wanting the week to end. The whole time everyone was building each other up and there was so much laughter in rehearsals and during our breaks. As well as lot of sonic runs.

Some advice I would give younger dancers is to watch what you tell yourself and give yourself grace. There will be times were you don’t feel good enough, but you have to trust the people who are there to support you and believe in yourself.

I will miss having my second family just a few minutes away and all the amazing people I get to call my teammates.

FUDA Class of ‘24 Senior Spotlight 💙🎓 EMILY

Hey everybody! I have danced at fired up for 11 years, pretty much my whole life and I have cherished every moment at this studio. Next year I will be attending Arizona State University, studying business and fashion design! My favorite memory at fired up was at Onstage when performing senior elites, when we were all crying onstage together, it was such a special moment. When leaving fired up, what I will miss the most is all the amazing friends and teachers that have impacted my life in so many amazing ways! My favorite FUDA tradition would have to be after ever award ceremony when we get to all gather together on stage to celebrate our success for every dance! Lastly I just want to thank each and every teacher and friend who have continued to inspire me every single day till this exact moment, you have all made me the person I am today and I will forever be grateful for every single one of you!
