It’s graduation week! 🎓 It’s been so much fun to watch these StageKraft icons’ glow-up from freshman to senior year! Peter Pan and Mamma Mia feel like yesterday, but they’ve grown so much as performers and techies over these 4 years. 🎭🎓💙

And our second senior series today, from techie extraordinaire and Little Shop fanatic Sophie Vaught!

If you’ve mainly been an actor and had to do a tech job, or if you’ve mainly been a techie and had to act in a show, what show/job would you choose and why?
Sophie: I would answer Little Shop of Horrors every single time. Little Shop always has and always will hold a very special place in my heart because it’s my all-time favorite movie, first ever professional theatre production, and the reason why I joined theatre in the first place.

While doing the lights would be the job I’d find most ideal, I would be honored to perform any part in Little Shop all the way from the sweet daydreamer from skid row to a bloodthirsty plant from outer space. 🎭🎓💙

2 senior series questions today!

If you were leaving a StageKraft time capsule to be opened 10 years from now, what are 3 things you would put in it and why? (it’s an extra big time capsule today to include one more item) 😂

Jaylen: Firstly, I would put in my little orphan Annie wig because she has seen so many lives.
Secondly, I would put Poochina the rat from Addams Family. While she may have been a rat puppet with fake lashes, I think we had the best costar chemistry.
Lastly, one time there was a piece of paper that made all of us break character during The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe rehearsal, because of a silly joke that was on it. I would put that paper in the time capsule to show everyone we always had a great time during rehearsal.
And WAIT I HAVE A GOOD ONE: Giana’s bloody Puggsley shirt!

And today’s second senior series post, from our brilliant Hayden Ambrose with a truly iconic choice:

If we hung a totally hypothetical plaque backstage with a motto, piece of advice, joke, or wisdom to all future StageKraft members, what would you want it to say?

Hayden: I’d keep the Big Brother is watching you poster with Kit on it but I’d hang it in like a golden colored frame.

Two more senior series today, starting with the person who’s been lighting up our lives since 2022: Paige Horn!

If we could have done any show of your choice during your time in StageKraft, what would you choose and why?

Paige: I would’ve definitely done Little Shop of Horrors! I think we have an amazing cast for it and the whole humor of the show fits our group really well. Costumes are fun, sets are fun, and the crew actually gets to participate with the Audrey II puppet! It’s such an iconic show that’s been around for so long and it’s one of my favorites! I saw it off-Broadway in New York freshman year, and since then it’s been a show/movie I hold very close to my heart.

Two senior series today, this one from THE Roxie Hart, Charlotte Chappelle!

What was your very favorite moment of any StageKraft rehearsal or performance?

Charlotte: My favorite rehearsal moment was when we had goofy shirt day at rehearsal and everyone wore the funniest shirts. It gave me so many laughs and we all had a blast! 🎭🎓💙

With graduation ONE WEEK away, we’re looking back at some of our seniors’ favorite memories and wishes over these past 4 years! Seniors, if you’d like a randomly-numbered question, DM or text Ms. Deal a number 1-10 to get a question. 🎭🎓💙

First up: audio superstar London Russell!
Who is a current or former StageKraft member that you really admire and why?

London: It would probably be either Mac McClary or OJ Sawtell. I really admire Mac because he followed a similar path like me and made it big in the industry that he’s going for and I find that really cool because I want to do the same. I also really admire OJ because she has so much passion and enthusiasm for literally everything she does.

🌟 Beth Kraft Award 2025-2026: senior Jaylen Lindsey! This year, Jaylen played innocent sweetheart Lucy Pevensie in The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe and Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, but she’s the very first to have a résumé dating all the way back to 8th grade, when she stepped in to play the role of Annie in our fall production of All Together Now. Jaylen has a powerhouse voice, a true gift of natural instincts as an actress, and she’s an absolute star every time she steps onto the stage. She’s shared her talent and dedication with us to the greatest extent we can imagine over the past 4 1/2 years, and it’s a privilege and an honor to add her name to the Beth Kraft plaque!

🌟 MVP, Most Valuable Person: senior Anya Preston, this year playing Susan Pevensie in The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe and Velma in Roxie! We’ve seen Anya’s sweet side in Mamma Mia, her fierce personality in She Kills Monsters, her evil-but-with-a-soft-side gifts as Wednesday in the Addams Family, her responsible-big-sister vibe in The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe, and such a sassy side in Chicago, among many of her other memorable performances! Anya has been an asset to every production she’s acted in, and we are so grateful to have had such a gifted actress on our stage for the past 4 years. Anya is truly an MVP in every sense of the word!

🌟 Best of Both Worlds: sophomore Ella Farmer! We were impressed by Ella’s talent all the way back in 8th grade, and she’s been a star onstage and in the booth ever since. We were always able to trust that whether Ella was in the booth during The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe or fiercely performing her heart out in Chicago, we truly had another versatile specialist and StageKraft!
