Keyboardist, composer, and producer, Angela Ward is a graduate of Florida A&M University where she majored in Computer Information Systems and minored in Music Performance.

Angela writes and arranges for the internationally known JWB, also known as The James Ward Band. Angela served as International Ambassador to Chile while representing Women in Jazz during the 54th Semanas Musicales held in Frutillar Chile 2023. She was awarded Favorite Jazz Keyboard/Organ Player by the Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors 2022. Angela served as Musical Director of the Sun Flower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas honoring African American Composers and was featured with the City Light Jazz Orchestra in a tribute to Black Female Composers during Women in Jazz month. Recently Angela was awarded the “Kindest Kansas Citian Award” and will serve as Music Director for the Musical “The Life of Fannie Lou Hamer”.

In addition to performing, she serves as Program Director and Teaching Artist for the Comprehensive Arts Institute with the mission to develop the next generation of youth with interest in music arts. She established the Instrumental Music Workshop entitled “Show and Shed” in 2014, and she continues to spearhead sustainable music education initiatives in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Angela performs regularly around the Kansas City Metropolitan area and is known for the rare blend of fusion, Jazz, Gospel, and Classical she brings to everything she plays. She has arranged and recorded two projects with The JWB entitled “In Perspective” and “Groove Axis”, that both hit the top 20 of the Smooth Jazz Charts.

Dive into the over-the-top chaos of The Toxic Avenger, where love, laughter, and a little bit of environmental heroism come together in a outrageous, laugh-out-loud way! The town of Tromaville is plagued by a corrupt mayor and her cronies and a mysteriously growing supply of toxic waste—if only there was an environmental super hero to save the day! Enter Melvin Ferd the Third! Foiled by the mayor’s bullies, Melvin is dumped into a vat of radioactive toxic waste, only to reemerge as The Toxic Avenger, New Jersey’s first superhero. Affectionately known as Toxie, our new hero is a seven-foot mutant with superhuman strength and a heart as big as Newark. He’s out to save New Jersey, end global warming, and woo the town librarian. The Toxic Avenger will leave audiences laughing in the aisles as it rocks the house.

After his sensational Hawaii debut in 2021 and sold out May 2025 show, boogie piano master Henri Herbert returns to the stage at ProArts Playhouse for one night only!

With over 100 million video views and concerts from Lithuania to Japan, Henri Herbert is one of the most sought-after boogie and blues pianists in the world. This is a rare opportunity to witness the music that birthed rock n’ roll and inspired so many of today’s rock legends. In concert, Henri Herbert makes clear that this rollicking sound remains as electrifying today as it did 100 years ago when boogie and blues began its takeover of barrooms and juke joints across America. Described by The New Yorker as “a blazing young pianist” and by the London Evening Standard as “possessed by Jerry Lee Lewis and The Devil”, Herbert’s visceral solo show is an exhilarating experience for all.

Originally from the UK, Henri is now a permanent resident of the USA. He lives in Nashville and his green card was awarded based on his skill a one of the best blues and boogie pianists in the world. In 2021 he performed a special show for The Royal Family of Monaco and has also accompanied rock legend Bryan Adams, and blues legend Kim Wilson. This show is the mid-point of a busy touring year for Henri, after which he moves on to Japan and Australia.
